Christ Community Church of Laguna Hills began as a home Bible study in 1968 with the help of Wally Norling, the EFCA's District Superintendent. Church services began in 1969 at Mission Viejo Swim and Racquet Club, and the church was chartered in 1970 as the Evangelical Free Church of Laguna Hills by thirty charter members. After meeting in a variety of different locations for a few years, the current property in Laguna Hills was purchased in 1971. The facility has undergone several expansions, the latest completed in February 2009, which provided the church with a new sanctuary In our 40-year history, four senior pastors have served the church, beginning with Pastor Arno Wiebe in the summer of 1970. Pastor Bill Hull assumed leadership in 1976, followed by the Pastor Jim Walker in 1980. Pastor Don Smith served as the Senior Pastor beginning in 1984. Pastor Charles Moore was called as the current Senior Pastor on January 18, 2009. The church has grown from about 60 families to now involve nearly 600 adults, youth, and children.
