CURRENT SERIES
The book of Galatians has been called: the Magna Carta of spiritual liberty, the Christian Declaration of Independance, the battle cry of the reformation and a charter of freedom. Martin Luther said of Galatians, "The epistle to the Galatians is my epistle. To it I am, as it were in wedlock." There is something of great importance in this little letter written by the Apostle Paul around 48AD. He wrote it to establish one crucial premise; spiritual freedom comes throught truth, and that truth is Jesus Christ. Knowing Him is genuine freedom, freedom from the law of sin and death. The Galatians were in danger of adjusting the gospel message that Paul had given them, and each of us our in danger and face the daily temptation of adjusting the gospel and subtley believing lies. Where and how do we do that, and what is the remedy for such a problem? Come Tuesdays to find out.

WHAT'S ALATHEA?
Alathea is a college and young adult community of Christians at Christ Community Church committed to proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The truth of who Jesus is and what he has done for us on the cross is central to everything we do. Knowing that Jesus died for our sins is a life-transforming knowledge that we seek to understand from God’s word and live out as people redeemed by God for his glory!
As members of the body of Christ, Alathea’s two-fold mission is inspired from the book of Ephesians. “speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:15-16
Knowing the truth of the gospel
Loving, worshiping, and knowing Jesus Christ flows from what we know about him in scripture. That’s why the teaching and study of God’s word in scripture is the central focus of our ministry. Knowing Christ as he is revealed in the Bible is a life-long pursuit that we believe is essential to our lives and ministry.
Living out the truth of the gospel
The essential truths about Christ that we believe are transformational. Knowing who God is in scripture isn’t mere head knowledge – it’s a knowledge that changes our hearts and minds as we become more like Christ. As part of our two-fold mission, we desire to serve in the local church and abroad to proclaim the gospel, as people changed by the gospel, to the world around us.
