Purpose

At Christ Community Church we cherish the family and realize that family life can be a little hectic and busy at times. Our purpose is to assist the church in providing a family friendly environment that reaches out to, and encourages our families through various Christ centered ministries and activities such as:

    - Providing specific events where individual families can be together for worship, meals, and fun.
    - Fostering the growth and nurturing of our church family by providing all-church activities.
    - Reaching out to the community by exposing visitors to the experience of Christ's gathered church.
    - Providing faith development in homes, premarriage and marriage enrichment, mentoring and discipleship, support groups, resources, counseling, parent training,
    and family education.
    - Creating and implementing an instructional and systematic biblical and doctrinal curriculum for students 3 years-12th grade.

Special Sunday Fellowship and Outreach
Sunday morning is the weekly time when God's people gather for worship, instruction, fellowship, and service.  We see our Sunday mornings as a natural and crucial time for the families of our church to come together and partake in the various ministries from children and adult Sunday school classes, to the corporate gathering in Christ's Chapel, and fellowship in the beautiful palm court.

The Lord's Suppercami-bap
We partake of communion on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone who has a faith in Christ as their Lord and Savior is invited to participate.  We see our corporate monthly communion as a great family event and teachable moment for parents and their children.

Baptism and Celebration
Baptisms are a chance to encourage the faith of those obeying the Scriptural command to be baptized. A baptism class is offered prior to the celebration of this special event. This baptism class examines the biblical basis for baptism and prepares the candidate for the baptism service.

Congregational Meetings
Join us for this celebration of all that God is doing in our church. This is also the time that we discuss and vote on major decisions affecting staff, budget, elder board and new members. We have our congregational meetings three times a year–fall, winter, and spring.

Special Events
Throughout the year our Children's and Family Ministry staff organizes special events to encourage spiritual growth, outreach and family relationships. Some events to look for are: father/daughter dates, Mother son dates.

Church Family Dinner
A great way to get to know someone is to share a meal with them. Family Ministry hosts four Church Family Dinners each year in conjunction with the AWANA program. At $3/person, you can't beat it, so bring the family!

Palm Sunday Picnic at the Park
This tradition just gets better every year! Held at Knotty Pine Park, just around the corner from the church, this annual picnic serves as our spring kickoff. Enjoy food, games, and fellowship for the whole family. Put it on your calendar!

Good Friday Family Service
Let's come together to commemorate Christ's crucifixion. This is one more opportunity for families to worship together corporately!

Fall Kickoff
Our annual all-church Fall Kickoff is a September worship service, picnic event. This day is designed to provide great exposure for our church and ministries. It is an excellent opportunity to invite your friends and family who do not have a home church.

Thanksgiving Eve Family Service
This annual tradition of a soup and bread dinner takes place Thanksgiving Eve and the Sunday evening prior to Thanksgiving. Dinner is followed by a service of thanks giving.

Tahquitz Family Service Weekend
Tahquitz is a training center for Wycliffe Bible Translators. Singles, adults, and families come to this unique camp nestled in the forest near Idyllwild and do projects such as: Chopping Wood, Painting, Washing Windows, and Picking up Pine Needles. Lodging and meals provided at a very low cost.  We also have times of Bible lessons and worship throughout the weekend.
