Welcome to Christ Community

Welcome to Christ Community Church!

Our name sums up exactly what we want to be; a community of people about Jesus Christ. In an ever changing world it’s becoming more and more important to find a gospel-centered, Christ focused church. We want to be about the things that God is about: His glory, His word and His people. If you’ve got any questions we would love to spend some time answering them. Please don’t hesitate to contact our front office and we would be glad to serve you the best way we can.

On behalf of the elders of Christ Community Church, may God richly bless you,

What To Expect

We are excited that you are interested in learning more about our church. For starters, our goal at Christ Community Church is to be a church family who loves God above all else, loves one another, and loves to declare His glory in all that we do. We all know what it’s like to find a church, whether it’s for the first time, or because of a new season of life. Honestly, visiting churches can feel strange, lonely, and even scary. Therefore, it might help you to know that we don’t really have any expectations. Our hope is to have the privilege of meeting you and helping you get connected with a local church.

Our Sunday morning gatherings are the highlight of our week. It’s during these gatherings where we see the church worshiping God, being built up and encouraged, as well as seeing the work of the Holy Spirit manifested in the lives of the people here. We are a multigenerational church – so it’s not uncommon to find children and youth worshiping with their parents – in fact, we encourage it! Our Sunday morning attendance is around 350 – 450 people. Dress trends are more casual, though you can find anything from jeans to suits.

Below are a few questions we hope to answer for you so you’ll know what to expect:

You will find people dressed pretty casual on Sundays. There’s no need to wear a suit and tie or a fancy dress, unless you want to. We want you to be yourself. We have many people in our church with many different personalities and styles. We want our desire and focus to be on God and our love for being together on Sundays.

Not usually. If you don’t find a spot in our main lot, you can find parking in the shopping center right next door. Either way, you will be very close to our church building. We also have a few handicap and visitor spots located in the front.

When you enter our campus you can’t miss our beautiful Palm Court. Once on our campus you will be greeted by our Welcome Center volunteers who can help answer any questions and direct you where to go. If you have kids, stop by the Kids Check-In desk. Our friendly KIDS Ministry volunteers will explain where to go and help you get connected.

The music we sing is a mix of the rich hymns of the past and the encouraging worship songs of today. More than anything, we desire and encourage congregational singing that is accompanied by our worship teams. We intentionally include times of reading scripture, prayer, or reflections that are done corporately. We also practice the ordinances of communion and baptism that are primarily observed at our Lord’s Supper Service that takes place during the first Sunday of every month.

Preaching at Christ Community Church is generally expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons usually last around forty minutes and are packed with material to reflect on, and application for our lives. Our sermon series often alternate between the Old and New Testaments. All preaching is driven by the Gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We encourage children in our services, or you may take your child to the appropriate age class. We offer a full children’s program (Birth – 6th Grade) during both the 9 am & 10:45 am services. We also have a family room (located on the far left side of the sanctuary) for families with infants where they can view and hear our worship services. For nursing mothers, we have a designated room (the Bridal Room, located across from the women’s restrooms) where there is an audio feed of the worship service. Find out more about our KIDS Ministry on the KIDS Ministry page.

Yes! Their class is offered during  10:45 am. You can find out all about our middle school and high school ministries on our Student Ministries page.

No. But to be honest, our greatest hope is that you become one. It is our joy and promise to let you know the truth of what the Bible says and to let you know who Jesus is and why we call Him our Lord and Savior.

Visiting a church is a unique and individual experience. Depending upon your background you either know the drill, have no idea what’s going on or are somewhere in between. Wherever you are on this spectrum, here are some tips to make sure you give any church a fair shake.

Attend At Least 3 Services

You may be here on a Sunday that is fantastic or a Sunday where something – the preaching, the music, the air-conditioning, or (please no) the refreshments are just…off. Either way a church is much more than any single Sunday, so visit at least three Sundays to get a good sense of what the church is all about.

Helpful tips:

  • Come early and stay late at least once. You can learn just as much about a church before and after the service as you can during the service.
  • Pick a new place to sit each week. This way you get a better sense of the people at the church.
  • Spend five minutes and look through the bulletin.

Engage In Significant Ways

Any church is so much more than what you see on a Sunday morning. Get a fuller perspective by doing at least three of the suggestions below:

  • Talk to one of the pastors/elders to get a sense of the vision/direction and theology of the church.
  • Visit a community group or meet with at least one regular attender to get a sense what life is like in this church body.
  • Browse the web site, and read Yelp or Facebook reviews.
  • Check out the Welcome Center and push the “I’m New Here” button on our tablet kiosk.
